Fees, Costs & Refunds

8.1 Policy

This policy describes how Triscott identifies and manages fees paid by students or employers, and applies to all students enrolling with Triscott. Triscott issues an itemised invoice stating the rates charged for each qualification; where a concession applies, the invoice clearly states the reduced rate. Students must pay their fees within 30 days of receipt of the invoice. Triscott maintains records of all student tuition fees via Xero.

GST

Accredited training is GST-free; however, GST applies to other expenses such as training resources and enrolment fees.

8.2 Procedure

Triscott informs you of the fees charged before enrolment. Fees depend on the qualification, any government incentives available, and your eligibility for funding (determined according to the appropriate funding contract). Where you are eligible for funding, training commences within three months of enrolment. A Fee for Service rate applies to all enrolments that are not funded.

Fees

Triscott does not intend to take more than $1,500 upfront from any student.

• A $150 non-refundable deposit is paid on submitting the enrolment form to establish your place in the program.
• A Resource Fee of $250 (incl. GST) applies to all enrolments and covers the administration fee, materials fee, and your Statement of Results and Certificate.
• Tuition Fees apply where a student is not eligible for funding, calculated as an hourly rate multiplied by the course hours.

Fee payment

The Resource Fee is payable at the time of enrolment. Where tuition fees are payable, Triscott invoices within 30 days of the program commencing. Payment options include cash, cheque or direct debit. Triscott also provides an optional payment plan, with the final payment due by the end of April (Semester 1) or the end of August (Semester 2).

Other fees

• Re-issued Certificate or Statement of Attainment: $40.00.
• RPL fee: determined by the time involved in assessing the RPL, and will not exceed $500 per unit of competency.
• Credit Transfer: no additional charge.

Concessions & exemptions

Eligible students who hold a Health Care Card have their fees reduced to $200. Triscott must charge a concession fee for enrolments at Certificate IV level and below where, before training commences, the student holds a current and valid:

• Commonwealth Health Care Card;
• Pensioner Concession Card;
• Veteran's Gold Card;
• an alternate card or concession criterion approved by the minister; or
• a Digital Wallet on the Centrelink app (staff must view the card directly in the app, not a screenshot or emailed copy).

8.3 Refund Policy

• All course fees (except for government-funded students) include a non-refundable deposit specified on the Triscott website, accepted when you sign the Enrolment Form. This non-refundable fee includes a resources fee.
• Where Triscott cancels a course due to insufficient numbers or unforeseen circumstances, you are eligible for a refund.
• Students have a 7-day cooling-off period; if you decide not to progress, you receive a full refund of all monies paid.
• Students who withdraw and seek a refund or fee reduction must apply in writing. Those who have not completed a withdrawal form are not eligible for consideration.
• Refund eligibility is assessed based on the services provided and the costs incurred by Triscott.
• Students withdrawn because Triscott cannot contact them, or who are disengaged, are not entitled to any refund.

The outcome is provided in writing to your registered address with the decision and reasons, and any applicable refund or adjustment notice. If unsatisfied, you can appeal.

8.4 Refund Procedure

Refunds are available to all students undertaking the qualification who apply in writing using the ‘Application for Refund’ form, available from Triscott.

• Advise Triscott of your intention to withdraw by completing and signing the Application for Refund.
• Submit the form within four weeks of your course commencement date.
• The Resource Fee is not refunded if notification to withdraw is received after the course start date.
• For full fee-paying students, a pro-rata refund is calculated based on the units completed or the duration of training delivered.
• If Triscott cancels a course, the payment received for that course is fully refunded.
